Abstract : Trees from 22 mango orchards containing 4 cultivars were (a) unfertilized, or fertilized with (b) farmyard manure only, (c) N only, or (d) N, P and K. Leaves sampled in the first week of Apr. were washed, dried and analysed for N, P and K. The ranges in percentage N, P and K for the 4 treatments during 1976 to 1978 were as follows: % N (a) 1.54-1.59, (b) 1.56-1.68, (c) 1.66-1.77, (d) 1.65-1.90; % P (a) 0.09-0.14, (b) 0.11-0.13, (c) 0.11-0.13, (d) 0.13-0.14; % K (a) 0.46-0.67, (b) 0.39-0.70, (c) 0.37-0.52, (d) 0.45-0.50. K levels were below recommended levels (0.95%) and deficiency symptoms were observed. Mean levels differed for different cultivars, Dusheri [Dasheheari?] having highest leaf N and lowest leaf K, Chausa highest P and K, Langra lowest N and Fazri lowest P.
