Abstract : Dashehari mango on 2 rootstocks with 12 interstocks (Pahutan, Olour, Nekkare, Kalapady, Willard, Latra, Goa, Kurukkan, Ambalavi, Moovandan, Chandrakaran and ST-9) was planted in a split-plot design trial with 4 replicates in 1979. Plant height, girths of scion, rootstock and interstock, and canopy spread (N-S and E-W) were recorded from 1980 to 1984. Rootstock had a greater effect on growth than interstock, the polyembryonic Chandrakaran giving more vigorous trees than the monoembryonic ST-9. There was no significant interaction between rootstock and interstock on growth parameters studied.
