Abstract : Scions of 2 new mango cultivars were defoliated a week before veneer grafting onto 1-, 2- and 3-year-old rootstocks, in a trial with 4 replicates of 10 plants. In general, % sprouting and survival were higher for Mallika than for Amrapali, but Amrapali gave more vigorous scion growth and larger leaves. Two-year-old rootstocks gave higher % sprouting and survival, and more scion growth with larger leaves, than 1- and 3-year-old rootstocks.
