Abstract : An experiment was carried out at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research using 2 scions, Raspuri and Langra, and 4 interstocks; Kerala Dwarf, Chandrakaran, Hybrid-10 and Langra/Raspuri (same as the scion). Scions of about 14 cm length were grafted onto a 10-cm detached shoot of the candidate rootstock by wedge grafting. This detached combination was then immediately veneer grafted on Totapuri open pollinated seedlings. Single grafting was carried out on Totapuri seedlings using Langra and Raspuri scions as controls. Grafting was carried out on 3 Nov. 1987. The Langra scions gave 20-73% success with double grafting (i.e. using an interstock) compared with 60% success for single grafts. The Raspuri scion gave 40-60% success with double grafting compared with 40% in the control.
