Abstract : Leaf and soil samples from 10- to 15-year-old Dashehari mango trees growing in 24 orchards in the Lucknow region were taken for analysis every Feb. from 1979 to 1983. Leaves from fruit-bearing terminal shoots were slightly lower in N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn, Mn, Cu and Fe contents, than those from non-fruiting terminal shoots. Comparison of leaf nutrient levels between trees with high and low crop loads showed no major differences, apart from slightly lower mean levels of Zn, Mn and Fe in leaves from lower cropping trees. Significant correlations were found between leaf and soil P levels, and between fruit yield and leaf Mg levels.
