Physiology of flowering in mango.

Abstract : In Northern India, most commercial mango cultivars tend to be biennial croppers. Factors affecting flower-bud initiation and the pattern of growth flushes are reviewed. These factors include: cultivar; climate and day length; cultural practices such as deblossoming, thinning and ringing; nutrition (in particular the carbohydrate:N ratio); and application of growth regulators and ethylene.
