Nitrogen, protein levels and amino acid composition in developing malformed and healthy panicles and shoots of mango.

Abstract : Healthy and malformed panicles and shoots were taken from Dashehari mangoes at 4 stages of panicle development (fully swollen buds, bud inception, full-grown panicles prior to full bloom and at full bloom) and analysed for proteins, total N and amino acids (aromatic, basic, neutral, acid, and S-containing). Differences in N and amino acid composition between healthy and malformed panicles varied with stage of growth, and between panicles and shoots. The data are presented graphically and in tables.
