Abstract : Thirteen insecticides were tested to determine their relative effectiveness against bud gall numbers and populations of Apsylla cistellata infesting mango in Uttar Pradesh, India. Monocrotophos (0.05%) and quinalphos (0.05%) were the most effective. Ineffective insecticides such as phosalone tend to result in an increase in the nymphal population as they may differentially kill nontarget organisms, enabling the pest population to build up.
