Abstract : A total of 55 species of phytoseiids is reported from Latin America. New records of phytoseiids mostly from cassava in southern Mexico, and Central and South America are given. Nine species are described as new by the 1st 2 authors. These include Amblyseius neoperditus sp. nov. from 3 plants including Citrus sp. in Colombia, A. vasiformis sp. nov. from Citrus sp., Matisia cordata, Jatrophobia gossypiensis, Bixa orellana, guavas, mangoes, cassava and cocoa in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, A. curticervicalis sp. nov. from Tricanthera sp. and Plantago sp. in Colombia, A. gonzalezi sp. nov. from cassava in Colombia, A. peruvianus sp. nov. from Pueraria phaseoloides, Musa sp., Citrus sp. and Jatrophobia gossypiensis in Peru, A. farallonicus sp. nov. from Plantago sp. in Colombia, and A. pentagonalis sp. nov. from Calopogonium muconoides and Coffea sp. in Colombia and Pueraria phaseoloides in Peru.
