Abstract : The results are presented of an evaluation of fruit characters in 39 seedlings selected in this district of India. Information is given on fruit length, breadth, diameter and weight, yield/tree, skin, flesh and stone percentage, and the content of soluble solids. On the basis of the content of soluble solids and fruit flesh, fruit weight and yield, the early strains ES10, ES6, ES13 and ES8, the midseason strains MS5, MS1, MS2, MS11 and MS4 and the late strains LS8, LS13, LS9, LS2 and LS12 were selected as prospective varieties.
