Abstract : Malformation of mangoes (of Indian origin) was reported in the Dhaid and Al-Aweer areas in 1989. Symptoms were of 2 types: floral malformation in the Dhaid area, and vegetative or shoot malformation in both areas. Fusarium moniliforme [Gibberella fujikuroi] var. subglutinans was isolated from infected shoots, and pathogenicity was confirmed. This is the first report of mango malformation caused by G. fujikuroi var. subglutinans in the United Arab Emirates.
