Abstract : A study was carried out on the initial fruit set, subsequent fruit drop and its relationship with fruit growth in 10-year-old grafted plants of mango cultivars Bombay Green, Bombay Yellow, Golapkhas, Himsagar, Langra and Safderpasand. Initial fruit set varied from 51.80 fruits/panicle in Himsagar to 107.79 fruits/panicle in Langra. Fruit drop was high in all cultivars (96.87-99.69%), with no significant differences between cultivars. Fruit drop was found to be positively correlated with fruit growth (length and breadth). Fruit drop was generally greatest during April.
