Abstract : A pre-harvest spray of benomyl combined with the antitranspirant Vapor Gard in the lst spray application prior to harvest reduced anthracnose [Glomerella cingulata] in mangoes during storage at 21.1 deg C more effectively than an application of benomyl with Nu-Film-17 (a sticker-extender). The enhanced control was attributed primarily to less weathering of benomyl in the presence of Vapor Gard thereby increasing the residue on the fruit surface at the time of storage. The effect of Vapor Gard on the fruit surface is also discussed.
