Abstract : The self-incompatible cv. Dashehari has a tendency to bear a very poor crop on the S-E to S-W sides of the tree. The panicles emerge rather early in the season (December-January) when they are usually damaged by frost. Their flowering does not coincide with that of other cvs. Two years' observations showed that a single de-blossoming treatment, at bud-burst, increased yields. The incidence of floral malformation, which is usually very high in the early panicles, was also substantially reduced by this treatment.
