A survey report on the predatory spider population of mango leafhopper.

Abstract : A survey was carried out of the Araneae in mango orchards in various regions of Tamil Nadu, India. Plexippus paykulli was recorded at all sites. This predator was more abundant on the variety Neelum than on Bangalora, and less abundant on Rumani. The occurrence of populations of P. paykulli was correlated with the occurrence of the pest Ideocerus clypealis on Bangalora and Neelum varieties at one location (Paiyur). A negative correlation was made between the 2 factors at another site (Kelamangalam).
