Abstract : Field surveys carried out in 1984-85 in the mango belt in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, showed that infestation of mango by Erosomyia indica [Erosomyia mangiferae] followed a negative binomial distribution. The cecidomyiid had 4 larval instars and infestation was noticed at the bud-burst stage, at fruit set and on tender leaves of new flushes.
