Efficacy of synthetic pyrethroids against mango hopper at lower doses.

Abstract : Field experiments carried out in a mango orchard in 1983-84 in Gujarat, India, showed that permethrin and fenvalerate at 20 p.p.m. and cypermethrin at 10 p.p.m. were effective against Amritodus atkinsoni for over 2 months. One spray application of one of the 3 pyrethroids maintained the nymphal population of the cicadellid at 5 nymphs/ inflorescence over a period of 50 days and the adult population at 5 adults/sweep over a period of 105 days after spraying.
