Abstract : A schedule of ento-patho plant protection using synthetic pyrethroids as an alternative to conventional insecticides was compared with other schedules previously found effective in mango orchards in South Gujarat, India. The concept of economic threshold was adopted to work out the need for application of insecticides. The results showed that the ento-patho schedule where the application of insecticides was combined with fungicide application resulted in greater yields of mangoes cv. Alphonso and kept populations of Amritodus atkinsoni below the threshold level.
