Abstract : New shoots of the mango cvs Baramasia and Langra grew rapidly for 2 weeks after bud-break followed by a marked decline in growth rate. Leaf dry weights and shoot diameters, however, continued to increase for 2 more weeks. Leaf N (expressed as mg/g dry weight) declined during the 4-weeks period, but total N content (expressed as mg/leaf) rose.
