Abstract : Research on vegetables included studies on maturity standards for canning cvs of Phaseolus beans; tomato variety trials; the control of rust and powdery mildew [Erysiphe sp.] on peas; and the control of the eggplant borer, Leucinodes orbonalis.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:Research on cardamom included the control of insect pests, and studies on suitable shade material. Research on coriander comprised selection for resistance to Fusarium wilt and to katte virus disease.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:Research on fruit crops included selection and variety trials on mango, pawpaw, sapodilla and breadfruit; and a study on the effect of coloured cellophane bunch covers on banana development. Cashew: Clonal trials and marcotting experiments.
