Effect of paclobutrazol on floral malformation, yield and quality of mango (Mangifera indica L.).

Abstract : Paclobutrazol (as Cultar) applied to the mango cultivar Dusehri either as a foliar spray or as a soil drench at 10-60 g/tree prior to flower bud differentiation during the first week of Oct. reduced the incidence of floral malformation and enhanced yields and fruit quality, compared with untreated controls. Soil application was usually the more effective treatment, the best results being obtained with an application rate of 20 g/tree. Data are also presented on average fruit weight, pulp:stone ratio and TSS:acid ratio.
