Abstract : In the 1988/89 and 1989/90 seasons, mango cv. Ewais trees were sprayed twice in Dec. with Ethrel [ethephon] at 250 or 400 p.p.m. and/or S-3307 D [uniconazole] at 500, 1000 or 2000 p.p.m. Uniconazole at 500 p.p.m. advanced flower bud opening by 3 and 6 days compared with controls in the 1st and 2nd seasons, respectively. Uniconazole at 500 p.p.m. + ethephon at 250 or 500 p.p.m. increased the total number of flowering panicles/tree, reduced the percentage of malformed panicles and resulted in the highest yields (528-699 fruits/tree, depending on season and treatment, compared with 47-70 fruits/tree in controls).
