Enhancement of red color on mangos with an antitranspirant.

Abstract : Vapor Gard (VG) at 1-5% was applied to Irwin, Palmer, Kent, Keith and Lippens mango cvs 1-2 weeks before harvest. Red colour of Irwin, Kent and Keith fruits was enhanced by VG at 2 or 3%. Palmer fruits are normally bright red at commercial maturity and Lippens fruits are primarily yellow, and in these cvs red colouring was little affected by VG.
