Abstract : Trained scions of mango cultivars Langra and Dashehari were veneer grafted onto 1-year-old healthy, uniform rootstocks on the 15 Mar., Apr., May, June and July. Observations on sprouting success, scion size and leaf number and size were made 5 months after grafting, with survival and establishment of grafts assessed 6 months after grafting. Highest sprouting success (82.5%), sprout growth, leaf number (8.26), leaf size and % survival (86.25%) were obtained with grafting in July in both cultivars. Grafting in Apr. was least successful. Dashehari gave significantly higher average sprouting success (65.90%), number of leaves (8.27) and survival afer 6 months (65.35%) than Langra.
