Abstract : This report includes short accounts of studies on the storage and ripening behaviour of 2 cvs of custard apple [Annona sp.]; investigations on the handling and storage or bananas for export; and studies on storage physiology and ripening in mangoes and on the incidence of internal breakdown in Alphonso mangoes in relation to maturity.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:This report includes brief accounts of studies on the use of gamma irradiation to extend the storage life of garlic and onion bulbs, types of packaging materials for mushroom storage, and the control of fungi in paddy straw substrates for mushroom growing.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:This report includes short accounts of studies on the use of pre-harvest fungicidal sprays plus post-harvest wax coating to prevent orange losses during storage and transport, and the effects of ethephon and smoking treatments on the quality and shelf life of Coorg mandarins.
