Abstract : This is the third volume in a series of 13 volumes on Indian horticultural research and the third of the 4 volumes in this series which are devoted to fruit crops. This volume comprises 29 chapters covering fruit growth, development and drop (mango and Citrus), crop regulation (guava and pomegranate), flowering and fruit growth (grape and Indian gooseberry-Emblica officinalis [Phyllanthus emblica]), flower regulation in pineapple, fruit thinning in temperate fruits, parthenocarpy and seedlessness, fungal diseases (tropical, subtropical and temperate fruits), apple scab (Venturia inaequalis), bacterial diseases, virus diseases (Citrus, banana, papaya [pawpaw] and temperate fruits), postharvest diseases, pests (mango, subtropical fruits, tropical fruits and temperate fruits), biological control of pests, nematodes, pesticide residues, and host plant resistance to insect pests.
