Abstract : Data are presented on the specific gravity, skin and flesh colour, external features of the fruit and stone, and organoleptic qualities of mango fruits, cvs. Dashehari and Langra, picked at weekly intervals from May to July. With both cvs fruit specific gravity rose as the season advanced, and maturity was indicated by changes in flesh colour from pea green to straw. Maturity was also associated with marked fruit colour changes of Dashehari fruits and greater prominence and brown coloration of the lenticels of Langra fruits. External morphological characteristics of the fruits and stones showed no marked differences as the fruits matured.
