Abstract : Two new cycloartane-type triterpenes were isolated from the roots of M. indica (collected from Karachi, Pakistan). Their structures were determined as cycloartan-3?,30-diol and cycloartan-30-ol, respectively, on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic methods.
