Abstract : Poisonous members of the Anacardiaceae are discussed, with particular reference to Toxicodendron radicans and T. rydbergii but also including cashew, sumacs (Rhus spp.) mango and Semecarpus spp. The toxins have been shown to be catechols with long side chains and are very persistent in dried material.
