Abstract : The taxonomy, biology and control of the main insect pests of mangoes in India are outlined. The species considered include: Amritodus atkinsoni, Idioscopus clypealis and I. niveosparsus, Drosicha spp., Apsylla cistellata, cecidomyiids, stem and shoot borers, Sternochetus mangiferae, Rhychaenus mangiferae, Orthaga euadrusalis and O. exvinaceae, and Dacus dorsalis [Bactrocera dorsalis].
