Abstract : Three isoenzyme systems (isocitrate dehydrogenase, phosphoglucomutase and glucose-6-phosphate isomerase) were used to detect zygotic seedlings in 5 polyembryonic cultivars of Mangifera indica. Significant intercultivar differences were found for the percentage of nucellar seedlings detected. The percentage of off-type (zygotic) seedlings ranged from 2 in Sabre to 47% in Florigon. The percentages in Peach, Julie and Kensington were 7, 9 and 12%, respectively.
