Effect of environment, bag size and nitrogen doses on vigour of mango rootstocks.

Abstract : An experiment was conducted on the seedling cultivation of mango rootstocks in greenhouse vs. field conditions, growing in plastic bags of different sizes (37.5 × 15, 30 × 15, 22.5 × 15 cm) with N applied at 1, 3, 6 or 9 g/plant as 3 equal split doses of urea on 1 Oct., 1 Nov. and 1 Dec. Seedling vigour was better when grown in the greenhouse. A bag size of 30 × 15 cm gave the best results. Application of N did not significantly improve seedling growth.
