Abstract : Paclobutrazol was applied to 1.5-year-old mango cv. Blanco trees as a soil drench (750, 1500 or 2250 mg/tree) and sprayed on the leaves (750, 1125 or 1500 p.p.m.). Soil application was most effective at reducing shoot growth, rate of increase in plant height, internode length and lateral shoot growth, with no significant differences between the concentrations. Flowering was induced 3 months after soil application. Leaf size was reduced by all the treatments. The leaf content of N, Ca, Mn, Zn and B contents were increased by treatment while P, K and Cu contents were decreased.
