Distribution of Brix in mango.

Abstract : Total sugar content as °Brix was determined in the dorsal, ventral, basal, apical and middle parts of the fruit of 10 cultivars on 20 Dec. Significant differences were found among the cultivars. Generally, the dorsal part of the fruit was sweeter than the ventral part, and the basal part was sweeter than the middle or apical parts. The sweetest cultivars were Oliveira Neto, J. Conceição, Carlota, Bourbon and Extrema.
