Preliminary results of calcium and potassium uptake from foliar sprays on Sensation mango.

Abstract : Foliar sprays of Ca(NO3)2, KNO3, K2SO4 (all at 1 and 2%) and Wuxal Calcium Suspension® (0.3 and 0.6%), were applied 3 times at 2-weekly intervals to the postharvest flush of Sensation mango trees. All KNO3 and K2SO4 sprays resulted in significantly improved K uptake compared with untreated controls; the greatest increase being obtained with 2% KNO3. Ca contents in treated trees were not significantly different from controls, but the Ca contents of K-treated trees were significantly or nearly significantly lower than some of the Ca-treated trees.
