Abstract : Oils are present in the seeds, roots and flowers of mango. To date, only the seed oil has been characterized. In this short communication, the physical characteristics of root and flower oil were determined. Oil from the roots and flowers had a lower iodine and saponification value, and less unsaponifiable matter than that from the seeds. The acid value and free fatty acid content were higher in roots than in flowers. The fatty acids were methylated and analysed by GC and MS.
