Abstract : Data were collected on growth of mango (Mangifera indica cv. Dashehari) in orchards of various ages in proximity to shelterbelts in Jandwal and Kandwal areas, Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh. Mango plants growing in orchards (8, 15, 20 and 25 yr old) in the vicinity of Eucalyptus showed substantial decreases in height, girth, spread, leaf area and yield. However, plants growing in orchards (5 and 10 yr old) close to Leucaena leucocephala in general gave higher growth and yield.
