Abstract : The dry matter, N, P, ether extractive, and RNA and DNA contents were analysed at monthly intervals from Mar. to Jul. for vegetative shoots and from Mar. to May for inflorescences. Malformed shoots had higher levels of N compounds and ether extractive fractions than similar healthy parts. Most of the constituents tended to decrease at the end of summer or during the rainy season. Trends in constituent changes due to maturity and seasons did not differ between healthy and malformed parts.
