Insects and mites infesting seedlings of mango in West Bengal.

Abstract : Eleven pest species, including the pseudococcid Rastrococcus iceryoides, Scirtothrips dorsalis, the geometrid Thalassodes veraria, the lymantriid Dasychira mendosa basivitta [D. mendosa], the chrysomelids Aspidolopha melanophthalma, Diapromorpha pallens and Monolepta sp., the curculionids Astycus lateralis [Lepropus lateralis], Eugnamptus marginellus [Deporaus marginellus] and Myllocerus sp., and the tetranychid Oligonychus mangiferus were recorded in mango seedlings in a nursery in West Bengal. D. marginellus was a major pest, defoliating new growth.
