Abstract : Hot water was tested as a quarantine treatment to control Bactrocera dorsalis in mangoes. Mango fruits were immersed in water at 40°C for 20 min, followed immediately by 10 min at 46°C until the centre temperature of the fruit reached 46°C. After the treatment, the mortality of the eggs and larvae was 100%. Immersion in large-scale use of the treatment caused no damage to fresh mango fruit.
