Abstract : Eleven thrips species were recorded from mango flowers in South Africa. Of these, the most abundant was Thrips tenellus and the most important species on mango was Scirtothrips aurantii. Details are given of the population dynamics of these 2 species; it is particularly important to monitor population levels of S. aurantii.
