Polyphenolics of twenty local varieties of Mangifera indica.

Abstract : The presence and quantities of mangiferin, isomangiferin, homomangiferin, fisetin, quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, gallic acid, methyl gallate, m-digallic acid, ellagic acid, beta -glucogallin and a gallotannin in leaves, twigs, seeds and unripe fruits of 20 mango cvs are tabulated. Mangiferin was the major component of leaves and twigs, while the gallotannin was the major component of unripe fruits and seeds.
