Abstract : Wholesale mango price information and throughput for the 1994/95 season in Australia are presented for the main wholesale markets of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Price information is presented by source of fruit (New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland), grade, size and market destination. The throughput of mangoes in the Sydney market was almost double the quantity in Brisbane, but more mango varieties are available in the Brisbane market than in Sydney. The Melbourne markets received a higher average price for mangoes than Brisbane and Sydney in 12 of the 14 weeks analysed. The Sydney market provided a greater average return per tray for Irwin, Nam Dok Mai and R2E2 mangoes, but Kensington Pride and Common mangoes yielded a higher average return in Brisbane.
