Abstract : The contents of total sugars, reducing sugars, non-reducing sugars, soluble proteins and nucleic acid (RNA and DNA) decreased in diseased as compared with healthy leaves in all the 19 cultivars tested. Total phenols and orthodihydroxy phenols registered a slight increase in some cultivars and a decrease in others.
