Abstract : Atrazine, diuron and simazine (pre-em. at 3, 4 and 5 kg/ha), glyphosate (post-em. at 3, 4 and 5 litres/ha) and Ferore (post-em. at 4, 5 and 6 litres) were applied to mango nurseries at Ludhiana, Indian Punjab, during 1988. All treatments were significantly effective in controlling weeds compared to control treatments or manual weed control, with glyphosate at 3 litres being the most effective. No toxic effects on mango seedlings were observed with any of the treatments.
