Abstract : This is the 2nd book in a series of 5 that aims to help growers, consultants and students to identify nutrient deficiencies and toxicities in a range of crops and pasture plants. This volume, on tropical fruit and nut crops, contains general chapters on plant nutritional requirements, plant analysis and steps in diagnosing nutritional problems. The main chapter deals with nutritional deficiencies and toxicities associated with individual elements, including notes on symptoms (and illustrations of them in major crops) and corrective measures. A short chapter deals with other problems (e.g. herbicide injuries and damage by environmental factors) whose symptoms can be confused with those of nutritional disorders. An appendix includes tables of leaf analysis standards for avocados, bananas, coconuts, arabica coffee, Annona spp., guavas, kiwifruits, lychees, macadamias (Macadamia integrifolia and M. tetraphylla), mangoes, passion fruits, pawpaws, persimmons and pineapples and illustrates leaf sampling for bananas, Annona spp., guavas, kiwifruits, macadamias, mangoes and passion fruits.
