Abstract : The success of veneer grafting was studied with rootstocks that were 1-, 2- or 3 years old and scions that had just been defoliated or had been defoliated 5, 10 or 15 days before grafting. Highest grafting success rate and shortest time to sprouting were obtained with scions defoliated 10 days before grafting and 1-year-old rootstocks.
