Abstract : Oligonychus mangiferus (Rahm. & Sapra) was found infesting the leaves of grapevine, mango and litchi (Litchi chinensis) at Ludhiana, in the Punjab, India in 1968. Two tests were conducted for its control on grapevine. These showed that high-volume sprays (400 litres/ha) of 0.015% methyl-demeton, dimethoate or carbophenothion, 0.025% dicofol or 0.05% malathion were equally effective and reduced the mite population by 92.8-100% within a week. Endosulfan and tetradifon at 0.02% caused only 70.4 and 80.7% reduction in population respectively.
