Abstract : Over a 7 year period, the mango cultivars Neelum and Totapuri, thought to be regular bearing, exhibited deviations in annual yields indicating that Neelum is moderately alternate and Totapuri is weakly alternate. The popular mango cultivar Alphonso was strongly alternate. Baneshan, a popular cultivar of semi-arid regions, was weakly alternate, and as such deserves a better status than Neelum.
