Abstract : Leaf age (young, mature, old), position (upper, middle or lower canopy) and period for measurement of photosynthetic rate (PN) in the Mangifera indica canopy was examined in an orchard in India [Uttar Pradesh]. Fully matured middle leaves had the highest rates of photosynthesis between 10.00 and 11.00 h in the winter season (the active period for flowering and fruit setting).
